Holy Smokes!! The title means nothing!
I keep getting sucked into personal sites like this and myspace and friendster, but I can't even keep up one blog, so why I think more would be better is beyond me. Anyway. I've been working at Bay for the last few weeks. It's fun enough, but this particular assignment is not really my cup of tea. I got into this staff assistant thing because I have mad skills in a classroom setting and in working with kids one on one, but they have me assigned to the kitchen. Now technically I'm working with the kids who work in the kitchen for credit, as their manager, if you will. But realistically I'm a lunch lady. The words bring shudders, but the act isn't so bad. I like the kids, and the other lunch ladies, and they all know that my job is actually a separate program. To the average high schooler wanting a burger, however, I'm just another reason to apply yourself in school. In other news, I'm going to be in Othello for this summer's Shakespeare in the Parks. I'm playing Bianca the prostitute. I never get to play prostitutes, so I'm stoked. They've also cast me as the duke (duchess now), which is more like what I usually play. And the challenge for the summer: Nathan is also in the show. We ran into each other at callbacks, which was the first time we'd spoken in almost a month, and the first time we'd seen each other since I left. It was a little intense, but it smoothed out as he calmed down. Honestly, I think if we have to interact, this is the best way to do it: with a structure and a purpose rather than just trying to hang out randomly. I think it will be okay.
