Hey, Lilly, how you like the ride?” Daniel shouted as he pulled in the drive.
“It’s ugly. It’s the same color as a school bus.” Lilith grouched. “It would look better in black.”  She hated when her dad called her Lilly.

“No way, yellow totally gets attention!” squealed Daniel. “Chicks dig awesome cars, dude!”

“Dad, it’s not 1980 anymore. Quit talking like that.” Lilith grumbled.

“Hop in, Lilly-girl, I’ll give you a ride!” Daniel was ignoring her snide remarks, completely caught up in the moment.

“Come on, Lilly! I’ll give you a ride to school!” Daniel patted the empty seat beside him.

Lilith sighed and slunk her way in to the passenger’s seat. “Hey, Dad, would you mind not calling me Lilly? I prefer my given name, Lilith.”

“Yeah, sure. Say as long as we are talking about names, would you and your sister start calling me Danny? Also, if you could tell people I’m your older brother, it would be a huge favor to me.”

UGH. Maybe if I slide way down in the seat, no one will see me.
