All my friends in Christchurch are safe. It took a few days for the details to filter through but I've spoken to each of them on the phone. Thanks for all the support. I'm just so relieved to have a little happiness about it despite all the devastation.
The saga with my dad has health problems is continuing with no sign of ending. Our lives are revolving around the district nurse coming out to visit him and visits to the doctors and to the hospital to try and get of this infection in his legs. Stupidly it's been going on for *months* and got progressively worse. I'm trying not to think about the worst case scenario because I don't want to deal with what it would mean to our lives if he lost the lower half of either or both legs. Which sounds selfish...but he's too heavy for mum and me to move around. He'd do nothing for himself. And we'd be very stuck..
