I'm enjoying a quiet, early night before I get pumped full of poison again tomorrow.
I have 5 more chemo treatments to go (out of 12). So I'm nearly two thirds of the way there. It started out ok, but the last three or so treatments have made me pretty sick. The nausea seems to be getting worse now with each treatment. Its very frustrating to feel really sick for four days, and I often vomit at least a couple of times. I've also started feeling quite sick while I'm actually at the hospital, so that's not fun either. I try not to complain, but its hard to be pleasant during those four days.
I've been finding it really hard to be patient. I know this is something God is really trying to teach me, but I think I'm a slow learner. 5 more treatments seems like an awful lot. And for that time I have to try and cram everything I want/need to do into 9 or 10 days each fortnight. That generally includes eating and exercising. But I know 10 Dec will be here in no time, and it'll be all over.
God has been really faithful through the whole thing. I can't imagine having to deal with this even 2 years ago, so I strongly believe that God doesn't give us more than we can handle at any one time.
I also moved back to Maroubra in July. I love it, and I really can't wait for summer! Once the hot weather comes around and my course of Round Up is over, I'll be at the beach so often! :D
Overall I'm just trying to be patient and rely on God to get me through the next 10 weeks. Then I can look forward to the (hopefully cancer free) future! The doctor has reiterated a few times that she's really hopeful that there'll be no cancer left after the chemo. So that's a good sign.
Then I have to have another operation sometime in the first half of next year to reconnect my bowel and fix an annoying hernia that has developed in my abdomen. That will be great, because its restricting me a little bit at the moment. Its not TOO bad, and I can still go running and what not if I wear my support belt (read garter), but I just have to be careful about lifting heavy things, and if I need to run for the bus or sneeze or something, I have to hold myself together while I do it... :P
