A la la la la long long la long long time...
Its been a loooong while since I wrote an entry on Livejournal. Almost a year in fact...
Life is interesting, and I suspect about to get a little more difficult. I've been working at UTS for 9 months now, and I've finally managed to escape from the dysfunctional nursing faculty. I start a secondment with the law faculty on Monday. That lasts till 20 January, and then I will hopefully be able to go back to uni and study full time.
For those of you who know me well enough, you know that my plumbing tends to be a little lacklustre at times... I fart like a champion and diarrhoea is common. So a couple of weeks ago I went to have a colonoscopy. During the procedure they removed a bunch of growths from my colon. I had my follow up appointment on Friday, and it turns out that the largest of the growths was cancerous. It was taken from the top of my rectum.
So now I have to go for a bunch more scans and tests, and then I need to have surgery to remove the top of my rectum and the bottom of my colon, and join them up again. Then they will test the section that they remove to see if the cancer has penetrated the wall of the rectum. If it hasn't, then I should be ok and back to normal after I heal from the surgery. If it has penetrated the wall, I'll need to have chemotherapy as well.
So the next few months will be a little bit challenging. Its a good thing that I have a God who holds me safely and securely in His hands. It means I don't have to be anxious about anything.
