Public Education
I don't think I've mentioned this but last weekend I saw Waiting for Superman with Chenoa and Sez at Arlington Cinema 'N Drafthouse. It's about the failings of the public education system in America.
I cried.
As an educator I couldn't believe the RIDICULOUS shit those who don't want to be teachers but who still teach do to bring down the rest of us. In New York, bad teachers basically sit in a room getting paid their normal salary because of tenure (which should be for college professors and not just GIVEN to public educators for teaching a minimum number of years), who can't get fired and are pending trial to be fired. These "teachers" have had issues such as excessive tardiness and sexual assualt. New York spends approx 100 million on this.
And the teacher's union feels this is their RIGHT! Tenure is earned, not given. Just because you haven't succeded in anything in your life doesn't give you the right to fuck over my enjoyment of teaching.
Just getting that out prior to writing grades.
