so much to update on...

You know things have been crazy because I haven't updated my lj in..like...days...

ACK!

Well, I'll start with my weekend, which I spent in California...it was my grandparent's 50th anniversary, which was actually very nice.  I sang some Ave Maria and drank a whole bottle of champagne at the reception (yes...the booze was free.  And the only way to make it through family events is to be drunk...and champagne drunk is a desirable drunk, hehe).  It was weird to be at the reception because EVERYBODY there, and we're talking like 150 people, knew who I was.  And I knew who NONE of them were.  It's so funny to have all of your grandparents' friends know you, just because they saw you sing at church once or saw you in Meet Me In St. Louis when you were 8 years old.

It also turns out that Sunday is a Chinese memorial holiday, so Sunday morning I visited my grandfather's and great-grandmother's graves.  And apparently it's Chinese tradition to picnic at the grave, so I ate dim sum at my grandfather's grave after I bowed 3 times, HAHA.  SO STRANGE.  It was a Chinese cemetary, so the whole cemetary was filled with people, like, burning things and setting of firecrackers and picnicing...it's very funny to eat on a grave :0)

You know what's crazy? I had the seat next to me empty on BOTH flights...how unprecendented, HA!

So now I'm back in NYC...life is good, rehearsals for Fair Fight are going very well.  It's overwhelming, but I'm so excited.  Everyone should come, btw, and tickets are on sale now, reservations are made at 212.279.4200 -it really is going to be good, I think.  Jordan wrote a song for the show that turns into this crazy rock song by the end, it's quite fantastic! And fun background harmonies, which I enjoy doing, hehe.

I saw Tay tonight, which was quite fun...we had dinner at Yaffa (I flippin' love that place) and he quickly saw my apartment.  Good times, and got to hear about his Jersey Boys adventures :0)

Laura and I didn't really do anything for Halloween, but Laura and I dressed up as Lesbian Domestic Violence for rehearsal, which was amusing...it's fun having a roommate who's a special effects make-up designer, HAHA.

I need to get some sleep.

LM.
