Greetings from Sweden

Point form update:

The weather wasn't as bad as I feared. Only -1 deg C instead of -10 deg C. Quite nice to see snow again, albeit dirty, muddy snow.

Am 7 hours behind Singapore time.

Sweden is expensive, which accounts for this point form update. Every 10 min of internet usage costs me $7. A 1.5L bottle of mineral water  (or rather I can only buy Evian since it's the only brand that I recognise as mineral water) costs me $5. It's cheaper getting beer, wine or juice but alas the severely hydrated me needs water desperately after the long 17 hours or so of flight.

I've forgotten how much I miss the quiet life. Am in a little town outside of Stockholm. So it's nice to be here, a break from the hustle and bustle of city life. The commuter train makes it quite easy to get around.

First impressions: I feel that I'm in a big-sized IKEA come to life. Everything here seems to be in IKEA colours. Even my hotel room's furniture seems to come out of a IKEA catalogue.

Unlike the typical European hotels that I've stayed in, this hotel is quite nice. The heating and plumbing works and I have a nice comfy bed. YAY!

It's kinda hard to buy stuff at the grocery store when you can't make sense of a single word on the label. Well, at least there are pictures on the juice bottle.

Had an intro to the school and toured its facilities today. Looking at the students, I miss my students :(   Facilities are very cool tho'.

Packed schedule next few days and nights so might not hv time to update till London.

Off to hv my dinner and chill in room before attempting to sleep. Didn't get much sleep on the way over.

Note to self: Ask travel agent to NEVER book connecting flights (esp in Europe) with only an hour in-between. The rush to clear the intense security measures they have in place here to catch the other flight can cause one to have a heart-attack.

Note to all-those-pple-who-kept-asking-me-to-look-out-for-cute-guys: Sad to say, THERE IS NONE AT THE MOMENT!
