Oooh, where to begin.
I had the best and seemingly longest summer ever.
A childhood friend decided to visit me for three weeks.
We did the entire "let's discover Brisbane (again)" program, including GOMA, Australia Zoo, The Victory *cough*, Noosa, Gold Coast - Pacific Fair, Gold Coast - soccer at the beach at night in the rain, Sexpo, the Riverside markets, two cinema visits (The Fountain(!), Music & Lyrics) & rather interesting Australian (Kanga-) Roo Bolognaise with only 0.6% fat... I can't believe she made me eat those cute little, furry buggers!!!
She, Carolyn, has known me for 12 years and I have only seen her once in the past 7 since I have been to Australia... It's amazing how much the people you are close to change, - but not really.
I enjoyed my first summer in 4 years back in Germany. It only snowed on the last day of my visit. Thank God. With 8 degrees it was the hottest day I can remember spending there since I left Bonn in 2000.
Also, I got to catch up with my grandma and the rest of my family on my way back to Brisbane. Mum and I stayed for a week at my aunties house, only steps away from six handful of cousins and uncles. I wasn't allowed to go out clubbing once, since I may meet "people without jobs" at the local pub. All I wanted was a game of pool *sigh*. BUT,... I did get to take about 2000 photos during my time oversees and well over an other 1000 when I got back to Brisbane.
What an awesome, awesome time.
I hope you all are well,
- Christine
