I can't believe I did this.

My dance troupe had a performance this past Saturday at the Brownsville Pioneer Picnic. There were quite a bit more people there than at the Classic Car show we were at on the 10th.

Our set started at 6 and we finished about 6:40. We started out with our beginner class dance, Saidi didi, then immediately into the One Minute Veil dance, which is what the other vid I uploaded was. After that dance we did the Hip Drop Dance.

I have this small love affair with the Hip Drop Dance. When I was first starting out I saw the advanced troupe do it and so wanted to learn it. When I did learn it I was so bouncy. I wanted to show it off to everyone. Well everyone but one person has seen it and that is the person who wants to see me do it the most. I need to get the music badly.

Then there was a solo, not by me. *g* Then we did Prologue, which is to Lorenna McKinnet's Prologue, hence the name. *g* My teacher had been trying to choreograph this song for years and a couple weeks ago she had a brain storm and this dance came about. The dance is beautiful, I'm very proud I know it. We are set up in three rows. I'm in the back, which not a bad place to be. Kinda nerve wracking though. There is a part where we turn and the people in the back have to lead. I have to close my eye so not to go too fast on our snake arms. *g* I have a video of it but it is too big for youtube, if anyone wants it here's Prologue. Then open floor, a solo by my teacher, the Maya dance and finally Drum Solo.

Drum Solo not actually a solo, we all dance to it. It is fast and fun. It always gets a big reaction from the audience. Now with that out of the way. I was taught the dance in less than 10 minutes on a Wednesday and did it on that Saturday. I had no music to practice to. So I'm amazed I even kept to my feet. I can't watch the video I messed up so badly, but hey, feel free to laugh I know it's pretty funny. *g* Drum Solo.
