Hey everybody. What is new? Not much here. Doing a quickie entry. I must share this cracked out dream I had. Basically I was walking into a bank and for some reason the Red Sox and some other people were there too. For some reason, I started singing the song "Ben"-Michael Jackson and sang out the first line "Beennnnn the two of us need look no morrrreeee" and then as I'm doing the second line, Jason Bay adn Nick Green chime in(maybe JD Drew as well) going "Weeeee both found what we were looking forrrrr" and then well...yeah. I don't remember much else but I woke up with a chuckle. Work today was alright. Though I wanted to strangle everybody around 4pm because this girl adn I were JUUUUUUUUST about to leave but then we got bombarded with customers whom were returning from the beach. DO NOT WANT. So I didn't get out till 5.
The big news today is the DFA-ing of Julio Lugo. My thing about Lugo is that I didn't hate him, hell I didn't even dislike him. I just pitied him. As a player, I mean. He got off on the wrong foot w/ the Red Sox and couldn't ever recover. And then whenever it seemed like he was just about to take off into awesome, something would bring him down. Kinda pitiable. That being said, I'm glad he's gone. Not too pitiable liek Coco Crisp and Edgar Renteria. Coco was basically criticized for not being Johnny Damon in 2006 and then not being Jacoby Ellsbury in 2007-2008 but he did have one of the greatest defensive seasons evar in 07. Don't forget that. Edgar was criticized for BOTH a piss poor defenseman and not being Orlando Cabrera. However people forget just as easily that if they had not signed Edgar, they would've probably re-signed Cabrera and him going to the Angels gave the Red Sox two draft picks. And those draft picks are Jed Lowrie and Jacoby Ellsbury. I kinda wanna look into those more about how players connect to each other via compensation draft picks. Hell Derek Lowe somewhat netted the Red Sox Jason Bay, since his draft picks were used to get Craig Hansen and Michael Bowden.
Anyways Red Sox start up the second half tonight in Toronto. They're up against the Blue Jays. Buchholz makes his first MLB start of 2009. Not sure what to expect tonight, but it'd be good to get a win. Not sure why Buchholz is exactly up. Methinks there may be a little showcasing going on. I don't think Halladay ends up on the Red Sox. The Yankees? Maybe. I hope not but the Yankees have a way of making people speak by merely flashing some green. It'll be interesting to see how this all pans out in the future. Also Jim Kaat is doing the game tonight with Orsillo....interesting. Anyways htat's all for now. Gotta go fix up some dinner. Payce.
