Today was a horrible stressful day until I got into my car
Work today sucked balls. I was supposed to be out at 3....I didn't get out till about 4:40pm or so. But once I got into my car and headed out, I found out the Red Sox won their game 8-4 thanks to a bunch of awesome. Then I got in and put on the postgame show and there I saw the graphic "Wakefield the oldest to make the All Star Team for the first time since 1952". Cue the epic squeefest I just did. Honestly, I don't even care about anybody else who made it. Bay and Youk deserve it, Beckett not so much, Papelbon not so much, Pedroia not so much (Kinsler deserved it more), and arguably Wake probably didn't deserve it when comparing numbers. However, I do not give a shit about whether or not Wake deserved it or not. I wanted him to make it so badly. It's lame, but I don't care. Also let's keep in mind that Wakefield carried the fucking starting pitching for a long fucking time before the other guys got their acts together. So bitches best recognize. Also he pitched 8 innings and 2 ER last time out and I don't care what the hell others say (the fan screwed him over)
To the fans of other teams reading this and thinking "What the fuck Piney?!" I apologize to a point. I don't apologize for my homerism with Wakey. I'm very irrational when it comes to him and I'm well aware that his numbers may not match up, but the dude is 42 years old, he may not have another chance. Besides, odds are he'll probably not even play. He made it though and that's the happy thing.
As for the All Star picks, I can't complain too much. I mean Wake made it and I have no room to bitch due to that. However, I thought Kinsler deserved it more than Pedroia, I thought Adam Lind would be there, but both are in the final ballot. I also saw Inge on the final ballot. I think I had a rough draft of an All Star team and I think I had Inge on there...it'd be cool to see him make it.
In conclusion: FUCK YEAH WAKEFIELD.
