Rally Beverage: BEEER!
Let me paint the picture for you first. Vladimir Guerrero just homered and it's 5-0 Angels. My dad is going to get himself a Guinness and asks if I want anything. I'm all like "Mehh why not, Bud Light" and all. So anyways cut to end of the inning and my dad comes back with the beer. I take a few sips and stuff and something funny happened, besides the giggliness of myself: The Red Sox started to rally. So with the bases loaded and nobody out with Big Papi coming up(after a Hinske single, Coco double, Cora HBP, 2-run double from Lugo, and single from Youk). I take a gulp and then suddenly there goes to the left of me, a fly ball that just is inside fair territory. GRAND MOTHERFUCKING SLAM! So now there's two things I can cross off my list of things I've never seen in baseball: A Big Papi HR and a grand slam(true story I had never seen Papi homer until tonight)
So anyways the game was fucking awesome and they put on an amazing comeback being down 5-0 and they won it! First off, WHAT DID I TELL YOU GUYS ABOUT PAPI?! kept saying "He hasn't been doing well in the clutch because they haven't really really needed him" Now they do and now he's producing. See? Just gotta wait until he's really need. Second off, my boy Cora had himself a pretty damned good game. Made a couple defensive gems and went 2-3 scoring 2 runs. Sure it would've been nice to see him get a hit w/ the bases loaded, but that's just pushing it for awesome. Though I feel bad now because I didn't wear the Cora shirt and instead opted for Lowell. Oh well. Schilling was very shaky but he held on and pitched 6 innings, which was huge. Okajimer and Papelbon shut the door, and them winning it. Manny, despite 4 Ks, busted out if his gamelong suckfest and hit a 2-run double as icing on the cake.
So yeah I was in the bleacher seats behind some drunk dudes who spilled a little too much beer on me than I would've liked but I got a good amount of it on my pants cuz of a little hole in my cup o' beer, I high fived a bunch of people I don't even know because of a grand slam, I got very buzzed and my throat is rather sore, and to top it all off; they fucking won. Oh and there was a hilarious moment when security kicked out a bunch of dudes from a fight and the drunk guys behind us were singing "NA NA NAAA NAAAA NA NA NA NAAAA HEY HEY HEYYYY GOOODBYYYYEEEE" and one said "Can't we all just get along?!" And dude, it was probably the best game I've ever gone to. Oh and I got myself a Pedroia player tee because the smug bastard deserves to be collectionized(I almost went for Tavarez but changed my mind last second) I need to wind my ass down a bit. WHY CAN'T YOU GUYS BE AWAKE NOWWWWW!!1 Oh well, I should probably sleep.
