The Dugout truly owns my soul. And
today's Dugout is just one of several reasons. Seriously, written for basebal fans by baseball fans and is just the greatest. I turn into such a bumbling fangirl over the Dugout sometimes, it's kinda embarassing. Ya know, it hink I'm gonna watch Ken Burns' baseball in between playoff games today. Buck O'Neil is truly the man. Baseball has just gotten a lot emptier w/ the loss of Buck O'Neil. My dad met him on Jackie Robinson Day in April of 04 adn got his autograph. He said Buck was a great guy and very friendly. My dad gave me the autograph and it sits in my room(Jackie Robinson is actually one of my heroes...and so is Buck O'Neil). I saw it today before I went to work and I started to tear up.
I'm watching the Cards/Padres, and Jon Miller sounds very somber and softspoken today. There's no score in the game rihght now, and Joe Morgan is going on and on kinda repeating himself. But I don't have the heart to talk shit about him right now. And I love that the Red Sox still got a shoutout when talk of the Padres being down 0-2. They were like "I remember what Terry Francona told me, when I said nobody had come back from 0-3 he said 'That's not what we gotta do...we just gotta win today'" This Padre squad got the chance they just need some luck. And enough Red Sox players from 04 too :P
Later today at 4pm, we gots ourselves some Tigers/Yankees action. Then even later at 8pm, the Mets/Dodgers. We could see a clinch-fecta today. But the Padres aren't looking to see that happening.
