Just stepped out of work and just thumbing through the papers online trying to get the latest newsage. Not a whole lot to read about, though last night in passing I posted an article about how the
chemistry of the Red Sox isn't exactly kaput just because the Idiots Era is done. The beginning kinda got me thinking of "What exactly could be their nickname?" So I've been racking my brain. They're a bunch of new guys, they seem to have a personality of innocence and pick each other up and defend each other. Boswell suggested "The Comrades" but I dunno, that just sounds really weird. But actually in a sense it does make sense. They're fundamentally smart, and are pretty goofy, but not like the loud obnoxious goofy, more of the silly random goofy. They're charming in a sense too, like in light of their innocence. *ponders*
I'm watching the Yanks and Mets on FOX and man oh man, do Buck and McCarver sound mad drunk. Pedro vs Mussina, I hope Petey does well, I sitll love the dude. He's a helluva pitcher and one of the greatest of this generation, and I wish people would realize that. Go Metskies!
Anyways the Red Sox and the Phillies face off tonight at 7:05pm. Beckett takes on Bret Myers which is the "marquee matchup" according to the others, which I do believe pretty well. Hopefully Beckett will remember to not suck tonight and kick some ass. Oh and if he could homer? That'd be most excellent. Dammit all I want this interleague is that one of the pitchers hits one out, preferably Lenny or Wakey.
