A Red Sox/Yankees-less ALCS!!! Hooray! I am a Red Sox fan through and through, but I am a fan of baseball first and foremost. I think that this lack of Red Sox/Yankees is good for baseball, unlike others. Also, I am free from teh wrath of the Yankee fans from my Public Speaking class for when I give my speech tomorrow. Any Yankees fan who whines about shitty umpiring needs to be referred to 1999 posthaste.

That said, thank JESUS for something other than a Sox/Yanks ALCS.

Yeah, that was the worst umpiring in the history of ever. I mean the 2004 ALCS had potential to be really really awful, like ALCS Game 6 in 04...at least when Foulke was pitching in teh bottom of the 9th

Heh. I have a soft spot in my heart for 1999, if only because that was the season that turned my otherwise sports-hating roommate into a rabod baseball fan.

99 brought me back to baseball after a couple years of zoning out. It was all because of Pedro Martinez and that 99 All Star Game

I think it's great-other than the fact that the Red Sox are my team. :)

I would LOVE to see the White Sox win it all now.

I want either them or the Astros....the Astros because I really wanna see Biggio and Bagwell win it all once before they retire which is soon most likely

That's a tough one-I haven't been watching the Astros, but I know they're a scrappy little team, and I like that.

But on the other hand, the Cards have gone since 1959 or something, and their fans deserve it after their debacle last year-they ARE an excellent team.

they are, to say teh least, the 4 best teams in the MLB and all equally deserve to be there. They're just about as unflawed of teams as you can have.

While I wouldn't object if the Sox had made it further, the White Sox and the Angels do deserve to play tomorrow.
I really don't like either team, and since I do like the Cubs I have a hard time saying I want the ChiSox to win. But it would be nice to know that we lost to the best team so....go White Sox.

agreed on most counts except I dont' really care for the Cubs much. I dunno why, I just haven't. But anywho...it's either Astros or White Sox for me
