The Ex-Yankees Overcome the Loathsome Rodrigo
Great game today, it was boring and just about what this team needed in a sense. They needed a game away from the bullpen, a game to rest everybody, a game to finally get over that hump of sucking vs Rodrigo Lopez. And who do we have to thank? Two men who were once considered the enemy. Two men who have converted from the navy blue pinstriped suits to the baggy red and whites worn however style you want. Yep, it was all thanks to Olerud and Wells. Wells pitched a complete game beauty giving up only one earned run and K-ing 4. Olerud clubbed a 3-run shot which along w/ Damon's 2-run double was the difference maker. The "Battle for 1B" gets interesting every single day. Today, Olerud clubs a HUGE 3-run shot....I'm awaiting the inevitable montage of Olerud and Millar highlights to the song "Anything you can do I can do better" Or just an animated icon...both will work :) My friend says they should add in Petagine and make it a 3-man race. I gotta say, I love this little competition and it gets more and more interesting as the days go by. Hooray for 1B Competition!! Right now, Olerud has the upper edge...but let's see how Millar responds tomorrow or Tuesday...when he plays next.
Work was alright, kinda was just a blur...sucked going in, and we got SLAMMED as we do every holiday weekend and people were like ordering the whole fucking store over Drive-Thru(there has to be a rule against getting Boxes of Joe over Drive-Thru and more than 1 dozen donuts...two straight orders were that) I sorta see Drive Thru as "I want a fucking coffee and a fucking bagel, let me get my shit cuz I'm on the go" not "It's too crowded and I hate crowds so I'll order over Drive Thru...I'm sure they can do it" yeah we can, but it gets really fucking annoying. Not really looking to go out or anything right now....gas prices too high...wanna drive as little as possible.
My mom has also finally turned against Bush. She never really liked him it seemed, but she hated John Kerry...this hurricane thing set her off the edge, and she hopes he'll be impeached for his stupidassedness. And she loves Anderson Cooper. Yep...I'm definitely my mom's child :P My sister works part-time at a kennel and there's a dog there from New Orleans. Apparently, the guy who owns the dog came up here to avoid the hurricane while visiting family. His whole house got destroyed so hes' staying w/ his family and the dog is at the kennel, I forget exactly why but I think it was allergies or something. However, he comes by everyday to go take the dog for a walk and take care of it. It's kinda touching really, hearing my sister talk about it. God only knows how I'd be if I couldn't have my dogs with me. Dammit...I'm getting all verklempt...I need to give my dogs a hug.
