caruso did this meme so I'm doing it too cuz it looks like fun!
PS: I'm rather happy about some of the Emmy wins but others...not so much. Mehh as per usual I just let it go as. Also Top Chef got hosed on their emmy noms. HIMYM had no chance in Best Comedy (since everybody has a hard on for 30 Rock which is damn funny and a justified hard on but still). Neil Patrick Harris totally got hosed for Best Supporting Actor. Seriously, if you watch the show, you know what I'm talking about. If not, then let me just assure that the man can fucking ACT. That scene in "The Leap" where he gives the "Maybe I want the trouble" speech is just chill inducing.
What team do you hate more than anything
I can't stand the Yankees. I also don't like the Oakland A's and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in Orange County of California on the West Coast of the United States of America of North America of the Eastern Hempisphere of the PLanet Earth....that has a lot to do with my hate-on of Mike Scioscia and the countless journalists who overrate him.
But hey, do you like anyone off that team?
I like Rivera. I respect Jeter (though I will lose this respect if he ever asks me what my hopes and dreams are). Fuck everybody else on that team. Oakland is more of a residual hate-on from 2003. With LAAAAAAAA, I like Torii Hunter. That's all.
Who do you dislike MOST off of that team?
Yankees: Nick Swisher. I just hate him irrationally. A-Rod too. Oakland: Honestly it's hard for me to do this question because it's so irrational my hatred for this team. As for LAAAAA: I'm going with Mike Scioscia with John Lackey not too far behind.
Now let's talk about YOUR team! Who is your team anyway?
Boston Red Sox
How many times have you seen your guys play this year anyway?
Just once this season :(
Who is your favorite infielder on your team?
Mike Lowell though I'm kinda partial to Alex Gonzalez too
Who is your favorite outfielder on your team?
Ken Cosgrove Jason Bay
Who is the best player in all of baseball without having a biased team opinion?
I'm going with Joe Mauer, hands down. Pujols is a close second. I only give Mauer the extra inch because of the fact that he's a catcher. Catchers who can hit are pretty rare and a catcher like him is like a once in a lifetime gift.
Alright, who on your team this year do you think won't return next year?
Well Paul Byrd is a given. I'd say possibly Rocco...I kinda hope Tek
Who is your team's top pinch hitter?
Rocco is actually pretty good as a pinch hitter.
Who is the BEST pitcher you ever got to see pitch live?
Gamewise or just legends wise? For the former, the best pitch game I went to was probably a gem from Arroyo in 2004 where he went 8 shutout innings and gave up only 3 hits or so. Famewise? I saw Beckett twice....I usually got crappy pitchers on the other end of the spectrum. I did see Steve Avery...but he was in a Red Sox uni.
Fill in the blanks: "When ____ comes out of the bullpen, I feel nervous."?
Papelbon and lately Delcarmen
Another fill in the blanks! "___ was the stupidest signing my team ever made!"?
Jay Payton :P j/k I know he was traded. Lugo. All the others were more like just taking a risk and they didn't work out.
What stadiums have you seen a MLB game in?
Fenway Park. Hoping to go to Camden Yards or the Rogers Centre sometime within the near future.
Who is last in your team's division?
Baltimore Orioles
On your team, what starting pitcher seems to never get the run support?
Usually it's Wake but tis season seemed to be more Clay at least in August. Hard to really decipher this one since there's been so many pitching changes.
Is there anyone on your team who has been on the team since you started watching?
Watching on an inconsistent basis -- there's Tek and Wake. Watching consistently, it's Tek, Wake, and Papi.
Who is your organization's top prospect?
Does Daniel Bard count? If not, then I say Michael Bowden, Lars Anderson, and Josh Reddick. Ryan Westmoreland is up there too when he's not all broken.
How do you feel about your team's overall starting rotation?
Love it. The 1-2 punch of Lester and Beckett is phenomenal (and yes it's like that in my mind. Lester is number 1 IMO). Clay has REALLY put it together recently and I think a lot of it has to do with Victor (I get the impression that Clay just was intimidated by Varitek...hey when you have a rep like he does, that can happen) and I'm really glad to see him do well.
Any thoughts on your closer?
Papelbon gets it done, yes, but the way he does is is really pissing me off. Also he has a large ego and it's annoying too.
Who is your usual leadoff hitter?
Jacoby Ellsbury
Are there any players you feel should be up with your team and not in the minors?
It's September so this question is kinda null. However, I do think that Marcus McBeth should've gotten a chance to be in the bullpen with the team.
How much faith do you have in your manager?
I got total faith in Tito most of the time. Sometimes he makes some strange moves but he at least usually explains himself and hardly goes with "I had a hunch". He did that like...twice before. Once it actually worked out.
Who is team you just feel bad for?
The Pirates...I'd throw in the Blue Jays and Orioles too. Pirates are a long standing team who just can't get it together. I dunno what it is but they just...they really just need a break to help them get back on the right path. The Jays and O's are stuck in a good division and could probably hold there own in any place that is not the AL East. They're cursed by geography. At least until the Red SOx, Yanks, and Rays start to suck which given the way MLB goes, could be soon.
Who on your team deserves more credit than he gets?
LOL my team gets too much credit and sometimes they get credit for things that they shouldn't even get credit for. However, I would give the crown of the underappreciated to Wake and Mike Lowell. Wake because he really was a lifesaver when the season began and Beckett was in a wave of suck and Lester was having trouble getting going. He was the rock. As for Lowell, dude came back from hip surgery and he's hitting awesome. Seriously. Come on credit people, stop overrating some people and look at Mikey Lowell a bit.
Who out of all the AL Central teams do you like the best if you had to pick?
Detroit Tigers. Though I don't mind the Royals.
After who your team plays now, who is the next team you play?
They finished vs the O's and are now going to Kansas City
What was the best win of the year?
I would possibly say the one vs the Angels but they had no right winning that game (then again, the next day, they should've won that one) but I'll probably go with that White Sox game w/ Papi's walkoff HR. I also liked the Bay game tying HR and Youk walkoff HR game too. And Nick Green's walkoff HR was delightfully insane. Actually I think I have a tie between Papi's walkoff and Wake's near no-hitter. The latter because honestly, if it wasn't for that game, the Red Sox would not be where they are now. That got the ball rolling for sure on the season.
What was the worst loss of the year?
Probably that bajillion inning loss to the Yankees where A-Rod hit the walkoff. I mean it was basically a loss anyway but it was like a guillotine kinda thing. You knew it was gonna happen but you just didn't know how. And of all fucking people
Who is your least favorite player in baseball?
Matt Garza. Yes I hate him more than A-Rod
What is your favorite baseball movie?
Field of Dreams because I'm a huge sap at heart
If your manager got fired and YOU got to pick a current manager to replace him, who would you pick
I like Jim Leyland. Dunno why, I just do.
Who is the best closer in the game?
Rivera is great, probably greatest all time, but right now I'd probably go another route. Not Papelbon....yet. :P Right now I'd probably go with Joe Nathan whose been getting it done with half the fanfare.
