10 more days. Eight more work days. At approximately 4:30 on July 3 I will be finished with landscaping forever. Sometimes I think I psych myself into hating that job more than I actually should. Laying a patio in 95 degree weather sucks, but we've done that about... never. Grading or pruning in 80 degree weather isn't a whole lot of fun, but deep in my heart I suspect it beats the hell out of an office job (the sort of job I tell myself I crave on those hot, miserable, sweaty days).
Anyway, why am I writing in my live journal after such a long hiatus? I don't know. Probably because I'm bored and I'm killing time before I go to the bar for a drink or two (which these days actually means a drink or two).
I have all these grand plans for the six weeks between ending work and beginning school--reading books, staying in shape, spending time with friends. It seems like I have similar plans every summer, but somehow those hot August days make any thought of exercise fill me with apathy, and who needs books when I have tv and the internet?
As for my post-summer plans, moving into my apartment is starting to look tricky. My parents have the van in Florida the week I'm supposed to move, so I need to figure out some way to get all my stuff and possibly a friend or sibling to Pittsburgh. This could be the last time I write in here ever or it could be the beginning of a new and open Matt, eager to share his every thought with the world. We'll have to wait and see.
