I am in a heavy black cloud. Nothing to see. Nothing to hear. Just this heaviness in my whole body. So heavy that I cannot move. I can't remember how to open my eyes.
Blackness.
That's all that was visible at the moment.
I wasn't sure why everything was black, I wasn't sure where Alex was, I wasn't even sure if I was alive.
Then I start to hear noises.
Beeping.
Every 2 seconds I could hear a beep, which assure me I was, in fact, alive.
It was a comforting beeping. I didn't know where it was coming from, because all I could see was blackness.
My sense of touch started to function. I wasn't in any pain, but I still I felt like haven't slept in a long time. I could feel a rigid bed supporting my body weight. I could feel a scratchy blanket over me. I wanted it off, but the heaviness was still overtaking my body. I could feel something cupping around my nose and mouth, causing a bitter taste in my dry mouth.
Suddenly, my senses starting fading away. I was engulfed into the blackness, again.

I was conscious again. Re-taking in everything around me. I fought against the blackness this time - trying to regain the ability to open my eyes. As soon as I opened them, I wanted to close them. They were heavy, it was an effort keeping them open, as the bright lights filled them. Everything was a blob at first, I couldn't make out what anything around me was. My life went from dark blackness to blindly white.
