[Okay, it had to happen sometime. Drinks at the bar that ended with one party having one too many.]

[Zevran was raised to be more careful of these things. A drunk assassin was a sloppy one. And a sloppy assassin was a dead one.]

[But he was watching the other man with great interest, waiting to see what would happen next.]

[Caesar's still not quite sure why he asked Zevran to go out drinking with him again, but he didn't have very many drinking buddies here. There was something obviously on his mind, however, and he wasn't going to tell Zevran the details. What he wanted to do was forget about it for a bit around someone he trusted enough for this.

Even if he would be hit on along the way eventually, he'd at least arrive home in one piece.]

I take it there is something on your mind... yes?

[He says it casually, lifting his glass to examine the contents. He doesn't expect a detailed answer. Just a confirmation of what he suspects.]

[Caesar puts down his beer back onto the bar and nods. He's not completely hosed yet, but he's gotten to the point where there's a light buzz and he can relax. He's still coherent, too.]

Yes. Things... back home.

[He's not going to elaborate more.]

Ah. So I see.

[He rests his chin in his hand, and regards the alcohol skeptically. Then shakes his head.]

You are drinking the wrong thing, if that is the case.

I just need something to take the edge off. To relax. I've been too wound up recently.

[He doesn't intent to get absolutely drunk. Not yet.]

[Caesar looks over in interest.... quickly replaced by a bit of wariness.]

[He quirks an eyebrow.]

[He's going to regret this, isn't he. Well, it'll be a distraction of epic proportions. Caesar drops his head into his hand.]

[He spreads his hands, looking affronted.]

[And he's just drunk enough to let amusement slip into his voice instead of annoyance like it normally would. It's even followed by a smile.]

Did anyone tell you that you're a smooth talker?

[He goes to get two glasses for brandy, but since Zevran's the designated walker, Caesar doesn't expect him to drink much.]
