after a week of orientation, I still have no clue what I'm meant to be doing

In Japan, it is currently Silver Week - a weekend followed by three consecutive public holidays (totally ganked this from wikipedia :p).  Unfortunately, my uni has decided since we are *cough* hard diligent *cough* students, we will not be able to take those days off.  But that doesn't mean we can't enjoy the sales that are on at the moment \o/

I really should be frugal since my scholarship won't kick in till October and I have to fork out at least $1000 of my own money in the meantime for this month's rent, but I see all these shiny shiny stuff which are on sale and I cannot resist.  I spent the weekend just walking around Ikebukuro and Shinjuku and it was very hazardous to my bank account.

Today, in Shinjuku,  I caught sight of a procession to celebrate the Respect for the Aged Day on Monday (I think).  Amazing, isn't it?

The previous day I had gotten myself a purty pairs of shoes to replace the ones that I left in Australia and a warm snuggly jumper (while I don't need it just yet since I'm still sweating an ocean, I will definitely be using it when winter hits). While in Shinjuku, I bought a very coolly ripped light long-sleeved shirt from Black Peace Now.  I love Japanese shop assistants, they are mostly lovely, polite and so sweet even when you mangle their language to bits.  The boy who served me in BPN was so cute in telling me what he knew about Australia - my friend said that people only wear sandals and shorts in Australia; is that true?  Ahh, shopping can be so satisfying. So here is a piccie of one of my latest extravagence alongside my beloved New Rocks with the Dir en grey T-shirt and towel in the background.  ...I seem to have a thing for buckles on shoes.

And as promised, piccie of my room - it is a lot bigger than the one I had in Tsuda!  But then again since I'm a graduate I get a double room and I don't have to share with other peeps.  And therefore I have to pay an insane amount of rent too.  Gah!  Anyway, you can't really see it in these pics, but I also have a balcony, a tiny tiny kitchenette and an even smaller bathroom.  OMG, my room was so grotty when I first moved in!  I spent all of yesterday morning scrubbing the bathroom floor in order to get rid of the gunk inbetween the tiles.  yuck yuck yuck.

And I had a very yummy cheesecake the other day... but I ate it before I even thought of taking a photo of it -_-;;;  My stomach works faster than my brain, heh.

EDIT: Bloody LJ, why can't I seem to stick everything under the one cut, and instead LJ makes me sound like some shoe shopper maniac.  Gah!  FIXED!  MWAH!
