Yes, Kobayashi lost. He lost by 3 dogs, but would have only lost by 1 had he not had an unfortunate mini-barf moment at the end. As much as I love him, seeing him shove what he just upchucked back in his mouth was a bit gross. Still, he did a great job even though he was in pain and at least beat his own record. I swear the last 5 minutes were super exciting. There was like 30 secs when Kobayashi was actually in 1st.
Congrats to Chestnut though I don't really care about him, and gambatte Kobayashi. I look forward to seeing him kick some ass next year. We all know he only lost because of his injury. Kobayashi is still the best.
Also, LOL at the announcer saying that a hot dog eating champion is an American hero. Yeah....
