I am a dumb ass
You know how I always gripe about how dumb other people are? Well today the tables are turned. Here was the situation:
I had a paper due at noon today. We were to turn it in digitally using blackboard. I had finished the paper and uploaded and sent through blackboard yesterday. Or well so I thought. I sit down after classes at 4 pm and check my email. The professor had emailed us a list of the people he had gotten the assignment from. My name was not on that list. In a panic, I went back to blackboard and tinkered around with it some more, and came to the sad realization that I had only uploaded the file, but that even though you hit send file, you have to manually select the uploaded file and send it. Argh.
The assignment was worth 10 points and the professor takes off 1 point for every half an hour late it is. So that's like 8 points off. God, if I hadn't checked my email, I would have gotten 0 points. Not that 2 is great, but I guess better than nothing. In a fit of self pity, I emailed the professor and begged for mercy. I told him that I had uploaded and sent him the file yesterday and that I might have made a mistake and only uploaded it. He's so not going to believe me.
