OOC: Ultimate Muscle information

Apr 09, 2007 02:18

Since Ultimate Muscle/Kinnikuman isn't a well known series, I figured I'd post some handy info, and post it here, incase anyone's curious how Chojin work 'n stuff. (some of it is from wikipedia.) Watch out though, there's A LOT to read. D=

Most of the names mentioned in the definitions are from Kinnikuman, rather than Nisei. (If you haven't figured out, Kinnikuman is the original series, while Nisei/Ultimate Muscle is the sequal.)

If you have any questions, feel free to ask here.

Chojin (Superman) -
Chojin literally means 'Super human' in Japanese. A person whose strength and abilities far exceed that of a regular human's. They can survive through a whole bunch of stuff, including broken bones, ripped off limbs, and much more. Most, like Kinnikuman and Terryman, are born as Chojins, but some, like Geronimo and the Brocken Family, went from human to Chojin through some special means.

Sadly though, a Chojin's only real purpose in life is to wrestle. Hence why many of the wrestlers are incredibly muscular, out of proportion, and extremely tall. They are also incredibly flexible for being so muscular. Because of their brute strength, they can easily rip a human in half without even breaking a sweat.

Chojin Kyoudo (Chojin Strength) -
Indicates the level of a Choujin's strength, represented in levels of "Power" (eg: 950,000 Power, 10,000,000 Power), although not often a deciding factor in matches.

Chojin Olympics -
A tournament held by the Intergalactic Chojin Committee (Uchuu Chojin Iinkai) in order to decide the best Choujin in the world. Currently 22 have been held, but only the 20th, 21st, and 22nd tournaments and the 19th English Qualifying Matches have been chronicled in the manga itself (the latter two appearing in Kinnikuman Nisei). For some reason, they are always held in Japan. (lawl)

Yuujou Power (Friendship Power) -
The power of unity mainly used by the Seigi Chojins, but as Sunshine once says "Friendship even exists amongst demons!" In the Dream Chojin Tag Arc, Ashuraman and Sunshine steal it so that the Seigi Chojins would particiapte in the tournament as enemies. Also, during the Throne Arc, Kinnikuman's brother Ataru Kinniku spoke of Shin Yuujou Power. (Genuine Friendship Power) Another example of the Friendship Power is right after Kid Muscle's match against Mars, Mars claims he learned a lot but "none of that friendship garbage." Later in the series, he becomes a Seigi Chojin.

Kajiba no Kuso Djikara (Burning Inner Strength) -
Also referred to as K・K・D. Latent power that emerges during a great dilemma. Unrelated to a Chojins personal power, it adds to their Chojin Kyoudo and increases it many fold. During the Throne Arc, Kinnikuman has his Kajiba no Kuso Djikara separated and sealed away, but eventually gains it back. Any Chojin can possess this ability, but it is much more prominent in the Kinniku Royal Family, where it is handed down from generation to generation.

Choujin Hakaba (Chojin Graveyard) -
Managed by the Chojin Enma, it is the land where the souls of dead Chojins are sent. Through undertaking serious labor a Chojin will receive Lifeforce Spheres (Seimei no Tama), and if four are collected they can be revived (however, this will not work for people who have died from old age or illness). Therefore, whenever a killed Chojin reappears in-story without explanation, it can be assumed that they underwent this ordeal. However, there are Chojins who, while there, simply float around doing nothing.

Chojin Wrestling -
Used by Chojins to settle disputes. The rules are similar to Puroresu and Mixed Martial Arts, except eye poking, biting, and attacks to the crotch are allowed.

Rules -
They are basically limitless one-fall matches but with no weight classification system. At first referees were put in the rings, but as the series progressed the rulings and decisions were made from outside of the ring so as to not interfere with the fight. Matches are won via Give Up, KO (this often means death), 3 Count Fall, and a 20 Count on the occasion of a Ring-Out. In Tag Matches the elimination of both opponents is usually required, but occasionally eliminating only one is allowable.

Violations -
Weapon use and a third man trespassing during a one-on-one competition is strictly prohibited. Techniques that recquire the ringpost or ropes (e.g: Chojin Hanging, Royal Stretch) are allowed, but when the ringposts are pulled out or the ropes are torn and used against the opponent they are viewed as weapons and therefore against the rules. However, weapons that are part of a Choujin's body (e.g: Warsman's Bear Claws, Buffaloman's Long Horns, and Mars' Swallow Tail) are exceptable. Likewise, attachments to the masks of masked Chojins (e.g: Kinnikuman's head fin, Robin Mask's horn, and Jeager's helmet) are considered part of their bodies and therfore not an infringement of the rules. Spikes, and other objects on the Chojin's outfits are allowed as well.
