Almost half of a lawyer

Second term has been going by so fast! It's hard to believe that I'm almost half a lawyer. However, I've decided to take a year off and live in Germany while Adrian finishes up his phd rather than articling right after law school. Here's to putting off the real world for another year!
We had Career Day a couple weeks ago which is where we all dress up in our suits and the firms give us free stuff. I was pretty relaxed about it since I'd already made the Germany decision and don't have to apply for articles until next year. Plus I'm not keen on coming back to Edmonton once Germany is finished. It's a little strange to have all my friends freaking out about articling (some of them already have jobs!), I guess they'll be able to help me put things in perspective when I'm doing the same next year.
I'm also applying to do a month long summer study program in Germany this July to get an intro to German law. Maybe some english speaking lawyer will hire me to do research or something when we move there. Back up plan A is hope the Health Law Institute will help me work something out so that I could work long distance for them (this would be sweet, I'd make my own hours and have time to travel). Back up plan B is.......well, there isn't one yet.....

And now, some pictures to illustrate what I've been up to for the past several months!

Me with the liberty bell in November (....could've licked the liberty bell guys!)

...spooky...In NY, Rockefeller Centre.

Suited up for Career Day

Me with some lady friends at the "Carbolic Smoke Ball" (law dinner and dance)

And finally, Valentine's Day crepes that I made. (Crepes are so easy to make guys and you can fill them with anything...I am addicted to crepes)
