It might seems a little tedious to listen to, but contains so much quality information on sleep and babies.

Part 2
Part 3
Part 4
Part 5
Part 6
Part 7
Part 8
Part 9

From Part 8:
"The quality of sleep - the ability of sleep to restore wakefullness in a calm way depends on sleep occuring in phase with biological rhythms - we have biologic rhythms of of cortisol, temperature, other bio-rhythms and sleep in synchronicity with those rhythms is more restorative. That's the 'quality' of sleep. That's why you can't fight circadian rhythms - that is why timing is so important....The counterintutive notion whereby earlier bedtimes did not cause [the baby] to wake up earlier...If anything, it enhanced sleep. So I use the phrase, "Sleep begets sleep" because if you're at a lower state of neurologic arousal, it's easier to fall asleep and stay asleep. So a lot of parents mistakingly think, "I will keep my child up during the day so they will sleep better at night." That is counterproductive. 'Sleep begets sleep' is not really logical but it is biologically how the body operates."
