the new Dr. Pepper Berries & Cream is pretty good

Shane, who is openly gay, from Road Rules was at our campus today in the University Center at noon. As usual, I had to miss great events on campus because of my ridiculous class schedule. Laura, my room mate, was able to go. When she came back to the dorm, she refused to speak to me. I felt ignored haha. Then, and only then it seems, she managed to give me a sheet of paper to explain why she was being so silent. It read: "This is the day of silence, and I am remaining that way, to stand up for gays, lesbians, transgenders, and others who face discrimination." There was more, but she has the paper. However, I know it ended with a website - www.dayofsilence.org

We need more things like this going on in our world. A way of protest that speaks louder than words. I've written and researched alot out of a topic i chose this year in my English classes - Martin Luther King, Jr. and the influence of Ghandi. Letter from Birmingham Jail is rhetoric that could be of so much use with the whole "Mexican border issue" and other things at hand in our present-day.

I really wish I could have participated, and I know I still can, but yeah. I'm proud of my roomie for going.

P.S. I managed to catch a glimpse of Shane on campus and he looked pretty good!
