I've been so busy with school
I decided it's time I get serious so I have decided to spend most of my free time in the computer labs haha;;
It is certainly paying off so far!
I wanted to play around with styles
this came out of it
and then I thought "oh what about all those shapes and silhouettes thing that have been drilled into my head??" (things I haven't done yet because I didn't know how to go about doing it)
And for the longest time I've wanted to find a way to put my normal style and simple style together so! I remember having a sugar rush doodling these OTL
I'm not sure how to incorporate the shapes into their bodies OTL
I was talking to my friend while doing these and I was like "yeah shapes blah blah you can't make a star shaped head OR CAN I"
Dusty's hair out of control=star
And then head shapes and faces because I can
Square Dusty cracks me up for some reason he's just so SQUARE
My favorite have to be Jason and Justine up above. But second to square Dusty.
And then below are doodles when I found some time (and if I wasn't sucked in by tumblr)
I acquired a whole box of various pens and markers because of the sketchbook I had to complete for class last semester
So I really need to make use of it \o/ And I feel like I get things done faster than when I use photoshop. (Maybe I'm less distracted by the internet haha)
And I got some free brush markers from being in the spring show so I wanna make use of those too! 8D I got other art supplies too but they're more for classes.
It's about time I move on from doing blocky color palette stuff and actually do better things with them. I wanna experiment with this style some more. Thanks to color palettes I've sped up the way I do lineless drawings by aloooottt. If I don't get distracted I could probably do one in 30 mins or less haha;;
Doodle like right before I had to go to sleep
Sooooooo messy. jfc. I've started to make my sketches like this now instead of the super clean way I used to do it. It makes linearting less painful and more drawing than tracing. And things get done just a little faster |D
So I got this brush pen for like $1.50 and ooooh my god I am in love with it. And I've only doodled these two things hahaha. I've seen artists mention they use this pen, but I've never been able to find it in stores.
It's this pen. ($2.50?? I lucked out, dude I should go back and buy a ton) It's a small brush tip, something I haven't been able to find in other pens. It makes super thin lines and thick ones too! And doesn't take too much effort to control like a normal brush pen. Feels like a tablet, but... more intuitive? (it is physically on paper after all)
I can't find the controls to change the pressure sensitivity on my tablet so I never really played with line width digitally. That and I just didn't think it suited my style, but I'm so bored with my style and the way I do things needs to change too.
I think it really suits my chibi-ish style!
