Stevie 'Wonderful' Wonder. That guy is absofuckinglutely the best musician ever. No, he IS The Music. John Mayer, Jason Mraz, Michael Jackson, Fab4. They are nothing, nothing compared with The Music himself. Eat your heart out, mates, 'cause Stevie pwns you all. I've never ever seen anybody so musical than Stevie. It's incredible. Almost 60 years and still going strong, no, stronger than ever! A powerful and touching voice, with the characteristic screams; an amazing 15 man band and interaction between artist and audience I've never seen before. Two and a half hours long: Superstition, Isn't She Lovely, Signed Sealed Delivered, Higher Ground, Sir Duke and... I Wish! Just a slight impression of his impressive repertoire. Wow...
It was a very special gig in many ways. Since we play a great many of Stevie songs, we (yeah, I was with the band) were astonished by the way Mr. Wonder himself performed them. Impressed and inspired. I'm already looking forward to the first repetition! Second, everyone knows Stevie is blind. it was odd to see the legend guided to it's piano (all the way beatboxing xD), with his dark sunglasses, and shaking his head on the music while playing. Last, his daughter was with him. She was with his backing vocals (and not only 'cause she's his daughter...) and, since he wrote many songs for and was inspired by her, it was so touching Stevie singing Lately with Aisha sitting next to him. Beau-ti-ful.
You daresay you love music? Then you absolutely have to go for at least once in your life to a live gig of Mr. Wonder's! The word music will suddenly gain a whole new dimension...
