I am fully satisfied by the pleasure of D'Lites ice cream (it is allowed on the diet--just maybe not as much as I enjoy it). Yum! So I am coming to the end of my 9th week on the ketogenic diet. I have lost 17 pounds so far! I am elated about weighing 133 pounds right now; I think my body has improved drastically just from losing 10 lbs of pure fat! I am not yet where I want to be but I will get there and that is enough to keep me going. The diet will suffer from a huge setback due to Thanksgiving eating that I did on Thursday and Friday but it's worth it.
I went up to Atlanta with my friend Nikki from work and stayed with her aunts and uncles in a gorgeous home in Lithonia. We ate homemade cranberry sauce, sweet potato pie, deviled eggs, dark and white meat turkey with homemade gravy, ham and pineapples, red pepper jelly and cream cheese on Ritz crackers, shrimp and cocktail sauce, chicken with spicy spice, veggies and dip, lemon pie, cornbread casserole, sweet potato souffle, mac and cheese, collard greens, mustard greens, black-eyed peas, green beans, homemade red velvet cake, pecan pie (though I ate around the pecans lol). Oh it was AMAZING.
I know my body is retaining ALL the fat, sugar and carbs it can because for the last 2 months it has only been giving 500 calories of protein a day. So for the weigh-in on Tuesday I am horrified. It may not show up until the weigh-in after that but, nonetheless, I am scared terrified about how much I will be set back. With some discipline to drive me to the gym I should be okay. It's finding that discipline that's the problem.
I also got a chance to see Andre my sexy redbone who lives up there. He told us where to go when we went out on Thanksgiving night and we had a blast. It was this enormous place called Wild Bill's and the crowd was so diverse I was in heaven. I met this sexy little Arian named Brandon, fine as can be with his blue eyes. I also exchanged looks with this sexy red with sculpted arms, dreads, and a red Atlanta hat. It was great. But FREEZING! I'm talking 34 degrees and such! But it was so, so fun. I had a terrific time and only wish I had the funds to visit Atlanta again for the championship game when we roll Alabama's Crimson Tide.
I am off to get ready for work tonight. Come to me money! I need to get a new battery for the Cobalt and my vitamins for the diet. I'm also probably runnin low on food rations. And I need to pay off the Cobalt as well as get a better phone and start saving for grad school. ::sigh::
Wish me luck!
