so this is becoming about my quest to start the band with daniel. umm, i say start, but i mean complete, as in with a singer and drummer, because the band is already started. as of right now, we sound like a cross between early 80's punk (think bad brains, circle jerks, etc.) and avant garde spazz screamo stuff (think at the drive in, blood brothers, etc.), with some other shit thrown in.
in political news, bush's press conference yesterday(or day before yesterday??) was a joke, except that it wasn't funny. it was great, though. he was in the middle of some shit about spreading freedom to the world, when a reporter asked him about his support of allies like saudi arabia and jordan, where human rights abuses are relatively commonplace. bush minced a few words and then asked for the next question, there's a suprise. but at least he didn't pull the dick cheney: "i believe i've already answered that...". Also, i'm disgusted that bush has nominated Alberto Gonzales for Attorney General. i mean, c'mon, this is appalling. as white house attorney, the man said that the U.S. need not be bound by laws such as those set forth in the Geneva Convention, which prohibit torture. THEN after this, under questioning he outright refused to talk about his role in the bush administrations policies on torture and interrogation. the man clearly is hiding something, besides his obvious record of supporting torture. and yet, our great senate judiciary committee allowed him to continue to be voted on by the senate (all 8 democrats voted against, all 10 republicans for, so he made it by 2 votes). hypocrisy hypocrisy hypocrisy, it makes me fucking sick. bush is up there spitting out rhetoric about bringing people freedom and rights, and his nominee for attorney general openly supports torture. this is just disgusting.
