For the sake of journaling...

Wow, it's been too long. I have done most of my blabing and messaging through myspace lately, but I thought it was about time for a good ol livejournal update.

I have been reading a lot lately, and it seems to have put me in a good place. I have started a few new stories, and have been staying up far far too late to either finish an unstoppable novel or continue writing because I feel inspired. It is just good to feel so connected to writing. Ok, yes...too sentimental.

I will be applying to grad schools very soon here. I have been thinking of where I would like to go, and I finally decided to order a book that shows every writing program in the U.S. and UK. It will be good to have someone do all of the research for me. Right now all I am pretty sure of is that I will apply to Fresno and San Diego. Good programs. I don't think I will end up in Fresno to be honest. I want to try another city on for size...perhaps another State(Country) even. We shall see. The truth is that I don't want to get too terribly far away from my parents...they would miss Ella too much:-) Irvine is a definite option, but I am going to just have to think about things more when I have all of the facts clearly laid out before me.

I just finished reading "The Jane Austen Book Club". Excellent. Better than I thought it would be even. Before that was Harry Potter. Excellent...much much better than the last book. I am starting on "The Solace of Leaving Early" tomorrow and hope to finish at least 4 more books before I leave for VA in 13 days. I believe I am up to this challenge. It will get me ready for classes this semester. I don't think i've ever been this anxious for classes to start up before.

As for VA, I am tremendulously excited about going. I miss Megan loads, and look forward to seeing Doug and Todd as well. It should be a really nice trip. I deserve a vacation after this summer.:-) I am also going with them all to see the live broadcast of DCI Quarterfinals. I suppose it is the next best thing to being there in person. I miss drum corps a little this year. And...as much as I don't like Vanguard, I think it would be a shame for them to place 9th or such in Corey's age out year. I hope they do some serious revision to their show before finals. I also hope Phantom's show starts kicking even more ass than they are right now. I loved it when I saw it and can only imagine that it's gotten better.

Well, I ought to go to bed. I am going camping this weekend and am pretty much booked solid through mid-September after that. I need to get some sleep while I have the chance:-) Hope everyone is doing well. Good luck to all you drum corps folks, and Fresno State people...I shall see you when school starts;-)
