^You`s a Pimp. I neva deny you dat.^

When I first agreed to do this study abroad I did not want a roommate. I thought it would stand in the way of me learning spanish really fast. So for the longest time I did not have a roommate then one day Martiza said ¨yo tango un estudente de Boston¨ Turns out that this was a really good thing, having a roommate. It was cool having Dan around for one he did not speak that much spanish. This was a plus for me because he would always ask how do you say this and how do you say that. So we decided to go out to the Jazz Cafe the other night. Good plan but the night started out just bad. You have to pay a cover charge to get into Jazz Cafe, so we paid and went to look for seats there was only standing room. So we dicided to get something to eat, we went to a chinese place and my food came out tasting like limon flavored death. That was the nastiest chicken I have ever had in my life. Dan is a cool guy and he split his fried rice with me. After that we did not want to go back to Jazz Cafe and stand up and listen to music. So we decided to go to a strip club. One minute jazz the next naked women, I forget whoes idea it was to go but we made an adventure out of it. After a few miss haps him having no ID and us scrambling back to the hous to get it. We finialy got to this place called
Josaphens something like that.

The women that where dancing at this place had to be the rejects of all the other clubs. I am talking about stab wounds and bullet holes, one chick had open heart seurgery scars and c-section scars. DAMN! Let me back up for a second. The whole night I was listining to Dan talk about his ex girlfrind and how she is taking advantage of him and such. I told him the most important things I have learned about relationships which was pretty much just be a pimp and let your woman know where you stand. If you lover her say ¨yo baby I got mad love fo ya fa show¨ He laughed.

My point is I had a good time finally being able to talk to someone and share these experiences with. I have seen and have had the privalige to do things that I had only seen on the discovery channel. But for that night I was able to go and do something that I would have never done by my lonesome and that is go to Josaphens.

I think the hardest thing that I have had to endure on this trip was not taking these hard ass spanish classes or having to adjust to life in a different country. Not even being away from my girlfriend tops the list although it is pretty close. The hardest thing was walking down a street filled with hundreds of people and feeling alone. Seeing something so beautiful and wanting to turn to my left and tell my girl ¨hey babe did you see that?¨ This was and still is the hardest thing that I had to and am dealing with. Well I will be home soon and I won`t feel this way any more.

So Thanks Dan who is now in Manuel Antonio.
