I've had a hell of an exhausting week. I've had a bad cold, extra historical redrawings to do, and two midterms, but now I'm done! Among other things, I am going to bed early tonight. Right after US!Life on Mars. Goodnight. (It could be so much better, but then again it be worse. I'm liking the Ray and Chris-- still think the main problem is Jason O'Mara himself. Is anyone else still watching? The F-List has been pretty quite about it since the first episode.)
I also voted by mail this week. That belongs in the Good Things post, yes!
And now, I'm going to post some awesome YouTube clips of Broadway numbers until Alison gets home and then we'll have dinner.

The Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny. I saw this cast in LA; it was EPIC. Also, Epic Theatre! Sorry, I promise not to make any more Brecht puns.

Here's a show I'd like to see someday. Side Show, where Emily Skinner and Alice Ripley were jointly nominated for a Tony.

I am convinced Ragtime was the best musical of the 1990s. If there was ever a candidate for a new musical deserving of a really awesome film treatment, this would be it.

Speaking of show I'd like to see, how about Steel Pier? This one could do with a revision-- Vick's numbers are kinda painful, but the dancing and the ghostly love story are pretty awesome.

Okay, I can't find any clips from the stage version of Hedwig and the Angry Inch, so the film will have to do. Also, you can sing along-- follow the bouncing wig! Flip, 'fro, frizz, flop, it's all because of you!

And finally, this one's also from a film based on an Off-Broadway show: Repo! the Genetic Opera. I saw it last week on campus and it was pretty awesome. Think Rocky Horror + Blade Runner + Saw.
