Missy Higgins, haha oh god I think everyone here remembers that song. Still sick of it even though they no longer play it on the radio twelve times a day.
I have had boxed "cab sav" before. I've put in quotations for obvious reasons.
Anyway, I do have other reasons for loving this other than the fact I obviously get excited when my culture (such as it is...?) is portrayed in fic. I've never been to Carlton, but as someone who knows many a person who has moved out from the bush and overcompensates by being painfully hipster, I can picture Ray in my head so clearly! And being more familiar with the footy culture (even if it is NRL), has made me feel so painfully for Brad, because gay football players are not a thing that exists. He would be in danger of complete ostracization. I may have just made up that word. And I think you did a great job of flirting with that issue, so yay! Love this!

I'm so glad you liked it! :D GREATEST HITS OF OUR COUNTRY is everything I ever dreamed this fic could be. CANON BRAD LISTENS TO BARRY MANILOW, OBVIOUSLY JOHN FARNHAM IS THE ANSWER. Though I bet Brad has a secret soft spot for, like, Midnight Oil because of his environmentalist-hippie bleeding heart parents, and sometimes he listens to them even though it makes his Liberal little heart all dirty. (GOD BRAD'S POLITICS ARE EVEN MORE UPSETTING IN THIS FIC, WHERE YOU KNOW HE WOULD HAVE VOTED FOR HOWARD. I'M SORRY I EVEN STARTED TALKING ABOUT THIS NOW.)
Anyway, thank you! Aaah, and the characters worked for you, oh god, I worried a lot about that. Thank you so much!
