So Much For Positive...

Ugh. Just got off a 12 hour night shift. Then I had to slog around in 9AM heat that is as bad as 1PM heat anywhere else I have ever been. Then I got a ticket for not wearing my seatbelt, in the back of a van from the 70's; I almost tore a muscle trying to adjust the belt to get it on. The SP pointedly did not care. *sigh*

I miss home, I miss Hel, I miss the kitties. I MISS REAL SHOWERS!!! I've only been here a week, and I am about to get my head shaved so I don't have to feel all the dust in my hair. Sometimes I swear this country is made entirely of dust!

...okay, a positive. As long as I don't mind riding in an un-air-conditioned van for 40 minutes and lose time I should be sleeping, I can access lj and facebook again! This will not be a regular thing, I'm afraid. I don't want to come down here too often. Still, the people-watching is amazing! There are at least 20 different countries represented here, military and civilian. And the kabob stand behind me smells so inviting that I think I need to cut this post short!

I miss home, but I will make it work to my advantage out here. Anyone who wants to keep in more frequent contact with me is invited to email me at bishop_alexi@yahoo.com.

Bye from Kandahar!
