[Though Kevas is taking full advantage of this sudden armory available to everyone, he's a bit on edge. Redd is making an effort of arming them and that has to mean something is just around the corner.]

Be lookin' like t'ings be gettin' serious round here. Might be time to do sometin'.

[Not that there's much to do.]Patrols would be good. Notin' ( Read more... )

[Talia herself had stumbled across an open weapons locker just before Kevas' audio post reaches her communicator. Although the idea of the lockers being open to passengers was, in its own right, a sobering connotation she was concerned about the same thing Kevas himself was.

If the Captain was not only letting them keep their own weapons, returned at the Halloween past, but allowing those unarmed to take what they cared to .. things were going to get bad, and likely soon.

Still, as alarming a thought as this was, Talia was not letting the chance slip her by. She didn't know anything about the guns, far too advanced for her, but she knew bows and blade. She makes quick work of replacing the throwing knives she had lost (seemingly) months ago, blades going into either boot with quick precision.

She has a crossbow belted into place, a supply of bolts attached to weapon itself and a band containing reloads attached to either forearm. She tests the weight of a slim blade while smiling a bit grimly.]A bit disconcerting that we've not ( ... )

[He certainly doubts that he's the only one with that thought in mind but it needs to be said aloud. If they lack the information to go on the offensive then setting up an impressive defense is their best option.

Kevas halts his search through the luggage to respond.]

And I still be t'inkin' we be knowin' only a small part of da story.

[Strangely that concern brings a small smile to his lips.]

Dere still be a lotta t'ings I plan on doin' befuh I go bitin' da dust. I'll be safe I promise. Joo do da same alright?

[Oh there is no doubt that similar concerns are running rampant in the minds of many a passenger, although Talia isn't snooping meaningfully. Hard not to pick up on mounting tension and eagerness when weapons are suddenly presented to those you're traveling with, whether in person or in mind.]

I've a rather similar path of thought on that matter.

[She replaces one blade for another and after a few swings and lunges, nods in satisfaction. She straps on the scabbard and slides the blade into place, feeling more at ease with its familiar weight resting there. There is a beat as she pauses, his words balling a knot in her stomach and chest that she could explain instantly if she weren't so damn stubborn. She sighs softly, hand to heart and nods, though he can't see it. She'd be lying through her teeth if asked if his words didn't feel good to hear.]

I've no intention of going anywhere, Kevas; you've my word on that.

[She was making a point of keeping herself busy; easier to do that than face and think upon certain things she'd much ( ... )

Let's hope dat we ain't gotta nearly die again to hear da rest.

[As he picks through another suitcase, Kevas swears under his breath and tosses it aside. This wouldn't be so damn aggravating if he didn't feel like there was a time limit hanging over his head. Doing his best to push those thoughts aside Kevas grabs another case of luggage.

His chest swells after hearing her words. They're music to his ears and he'll be doing everything in his power to make sure they both stay true to their promises.]

Good, I gonna be holdin' jah to dat. Don't wanna loose jah dis far into da game.
