"Please, hang on!!" the slender man sobbed beside the dying soldier, shaking the body heavy with armors and life slowly drifting away. He forgot his own wounded shoulder, the pain seemed to flew away somewhere after he saw the other man laying almost lifeless on the grass.
"Sorry..." the older man sighed. Reaching his hand to touch the younger man's shoulder, he showed a worried face. "Your shoulder... The blood isn't stopping... I'm sorry... I'm sorry..."
The slender man shook his head. "I'm okay."
"I wonder... why do we end up as enemies on this war..." tears rolled down the older man's cheek. "Heaven knows our love..."
The slender man leaned down and planted a soft kiss on the older's eyelid. "I--"
"THERE THEY ARE!!!"
The two men were surprised when sounds of heavy footsteps running and clanking weapons drew near. The slender man held the other man tighter.
"KILL THE TRAITOR!!!"
The two men shut their eyes in complete surrender as they heard the noises of arrows being prepared.
"I love you."
"FIRE!!!!!!"

Heaven knows our love. And Heaven witnessed how this soil slowly dyed in red... Deep red, blood red. Our blood, our love, dyed the soil...
And may trees and flowers bloom to protect those in search of love.

Ohno Satoshi stood under the big tree, marvelling at the strong wood and beautiful leaves. He took photographs of the legendary tree with mouth hanging open. His eyes stopped at the metallic plate attached on the fence protecting the base of the tree. It was said that two soldiers had died at the spot where the tree had stood for centuries.
"Sugoi..." he murmured.
"The Last Blood Tree... Am I right?"
Ohno turned to see a taller man smiling while looking at the tree. "Hello," the stranger smiled at him. "Aiba Masaki." He stretched his hand.
"Ah... Ohno. Ohno Satoshi."
"Beautiful, isn't it?"
Ohno nodded. "Too beautiful for words. It... I don't know why it feels nostalgic staring at this tree."
Ohno closed his eyes solemnly, enjoying the sounds of the rustling leaves and children running and laughing around the park. "Just like home." he murmured unconsciously.
"You're right," Aiba said to Ohno's surprise. "I wonder why..."
Ohno giggled. "I wonder why."
They stayed silent for a while, just enjoying their surroundings. Pink petals fluttering down slowly and brushing their skins, brought smile to their faces.
"Oniisan, watch out!!"
It was too late. Aiba's face was hit by a large ball, the impact sent him to the ground.
"Aiba-san!!" Ohno quickly went to help Aiba, pulling him by his arm. He stared at the fleeing child annoyedly.
He accidentally pulled Aiba's cardigan sleeve down, made the taller man's bare shoulder exposed because he only wore a tank top under his cardigan. There was a deep wine-colored mark on his shoulder, and Ohno stared at it questioningly. "What... is that...?"
"Birthmark," he answered, pulling his sleeve back. "Pretty big, huh."
The moment Aiba smiled, a strong wind blew, sending hundreds of petals and leaves fluttering down on them. Their eyes met in a longing gaze, a warm nostalgia filled the air.
"Have we... met somewhere before...?"
"Yes, maybe yes."
