What a ride

Jan 13, 2005 17:50

So yesterday i woke up and saw that my window blinds were blinking. i thought it couldnt possibly be lightning. but i was wrong. it was pouring outside. i got a bad feeling about driving out to battle creek at 730 in the morning, because it was almost freezing out and i figured the roads would be bad. I turned on the weather channel and talked to bean about it. I thought to myself, "fuck it. ive landed airplanes with snow on the runway, i can do this."

So now im out in my car. i make sure my mp3 player is jammin', and i hit the road. it wasnt that bad out. ive driven in a lot worse. hell ive speeded on freeways in worse conditions. anyway, everyone is driving their cars to the extreme. i mean, people were either speeding like mad or driving 30 under the limit (yes that includes 40mph zones too). the point is, nobody was driving normally. i had my tunes on and i was ten minutes earlier than normal. i decided i would take my time and enjoy myself.

meow, I finally reach the highway and i decided to cruise at about 70. mind you, between 85 and 100 is my normal speed. so today i was being good. but i mean, shit it was bad out. plus, i didnt want to leave my mp3 player so that i could sit in class and talk to or hear some annoying kid who is already having trouble with the first homework(ssssssssss) assignment. well anyway, im cruising and im letting people pass me. i get into the left lane. there is a truck ahead. i pass him. some asshole starts riding my ass. i get in the right lane and let him go. blah blah blah. etc. well, this time, i get over and im in the left lane. im there for about a good minute. the person ahead of me passes the truck. i at the moment, was right along side of that same truck. all of a sudden, the truck starts moving over. HOLY FUCK BATMAN. no blinker at all! By the time he sees that im right next to him and decides to move back into his lane, i had hit the brakes. well the brakes caused me to swerve to the left. then to the right. then back to the left, in which my ass began to fish-tail. i turned a little less then 90 degrees to the left (i suppose, by looking at the pictures) before slamming into the median wall. i bounced off and continued to spin. at 180 degrees, i saw all of the lights shinning at me and immediately thought, "holy fuck, im gone." I continued spinning until i was about 270 degrees to the left before i stopped. once i stopped spinning, my car started rolling forward. i could have hit the brakes (i dont know if they would have worked) and stopped on the road, but i was more concerned with getting off the road. so i crossed all highway lanes (with no steering, mind you) and ended up in the ditch.

I still cant believe what happened. I cant believe i got into an accident. It all happened in, literally, fractions of a second. all i remember is: left, right, left, wall, the stupid smell of the airbag, the airbag in my chest, the headlights, stopping, slowly rolling into the ditch, and then (of course) hitting the ditch. and at the same time, i was thinking: fuck, oh fuck, damn it.., lol, yuck, it went off?, holy shit!, that was it?, and (of course) that must be what the people of nascar feel like!.

so a few facts:
1)im ok- just a bruised shin and a jammed finger
2)my car is now out of the ditch
3)the truck driver never pulled over and stopped
4)yes someone was there to help me
5)it was my first accident
6)ive never had a ticket before, and i still dont have one
7)yes that means i did not get a ticket
8)number 7 was for morons only, continue to number 9
9)if i hadnt rotated my tires during vacation, I might not be here. - i would have had bald tires in the front and good ones in the back. that means my tires in the front would have lost control first and i would have slammed into the wall immediately and at a different angle. picture the front of the car being the pivot point and the back end sliding out causing the car to gracefully bounce off the wall into a ditch. that is what actually happened. now think about the back of the car being the pivot point and the front side (mainly the driver seat, and the driver) smashing into and sticking to the wall with the back end momentum grinding the car in even further, potentially making the car flip over.
10)it was a fun ride! lol

now take a look at the pictures! theyre so cool!

man, last time i got hurt, i had stitches in my chin and i got to see the scar on karen barr's leg! that was so cool! i got to see karen barr's leg!! i mean scar!! maybe if we're lucky, she will reply with some pictures. lol
