Odd but welcome phrases: "Well, Alaric, I think I've heard about enough out of you today." Followed by the in-person interview information.
Interview went well. Like, really well. I don't want to jinx anything by going into details but I think I really really do have a great shot at this. (Oh and the 'not much' starting pay, per week, after taxes, is a smidge over twice what unemployment is giving me and in fact a smidge more than SLB was paying. So, uh, no complaints. Plus really good benefits. If you have good vibes to give, as people have commented via Facebook, for Xenu's sake save them until both October 2nd and the mysterious date on which the hiring decision gets made. Fingers crossed.
Also my anticipatory energy grounds itself in strange ways, I was going to put a Kerbal on the North Pole (via a hot air balloon strapped to an electric rover of curious design) but after a bit I found myself wondering what makes air and ground so attractive to a member of a race whose primary drive seems to be SPAAAAACE, and a ~4,000 word drabble ensued in the form of an interview between my everpresent test pilot and another Kerbal of some repute. And there's plenty more to go, but...after the phone call I found I just forgot everything I was doing and thinking and working on.
In other news my resume has been passed along to a hiring manager for a survey project, I have another person wanting a callback for a PC tech position, and in general everything seems to be hitting at once. Rather than attempt to transcribe my current state of optimism I will simply leave you with the following illustrative videos and a quote from Marty McFly; "Watch the chord changes and try to keep up."
