New Computer!

I've got a new laptop!!

It's something I've been needing for a while since my Huntingdon computer finally died, and now it's mine!

I don't pretend to really understand what most of this means but:

It has a dual-core processor.
It has 2 gigabytes of RAM.
It has 160 gigabytes of hard drive space.
It has a 15.4 inch widescreen display- it's shiny!
It has an ATI Radeon Xpress something or other video card.
Windows Vista is on it's way.

I don't really do any gaming (barring the Sims of course) so it's mostly an internet/e-mail/word processing/iTunes machine... Morgan says this is good enough.

Anyway, I'd hate for people to think that I just post when I buy something new, so I suppose a little update is in order.

Work is going well. I was recently made a 'Certified Account Manager' which comes with a little raise and qualifies me for a promotion... Hopefully that will come sooner than later.

Work is still very boring though. Today I sat at my desk for about nine straight hours and did maybe an hour and a half's worth of work. It's really sad. Some of you may be thinking that this sounds like a pretty good deal, but you're wrong. See, I like to feel needed. I like to feel like I serve a purpose and I'm not getting that here. Plus it's hell to be chained down to a desk for an entire day with nothing to do. How many times can I read the news online? How many times can I build a BMW 3-series online before I have all the options, prices and colors memorized? There is only so much one can do to look busy.

Oh well. I just have to keep reminding myself that this job keeps me in food, Volkswagens and laptops.

There is a future though! I'm getting serious about Grad school... Serious enough to plunk down change to take the GRE.

I signed up to take the GRE on March 10th. So I'm studying for that. I'm looking at a few programs (hoping I can get in). There are a couple at the University of Alabama that I like, one that's a possibility at UAB and another that I'd love to do at Birmingham-Southern (I proabably can't afford it though). Still, I could wind up going anywhere at this point. It just depends on who will take me and how much it will cost me. Seems like there are enough retards out there roaming around with Masters degrees that I shouldn't have too much trouble.

Well... You all know my standard rules about commenting... I insist upon it. So, take a moment. It's not like I post that often.
