July is almost over

Damn, July is almost gone...

What all have I done so far?

There's been my 26th birthday; Allen took me to Zehnder's in Frankenmuth, MI. Then we went to King's Island the next week. We're hoping to go to Jamaica again in late August, but it's all dependent upon how far Allen's flyer miles will get us. I'll know more about that in another couple weeks. Other than that I've just been catching up on sleep and keeping the house reasonably clean.

And before anyone thinks the wrong thing, Allen is not supporting me, I am just off work. I'm getting by on food stamps right now, which was a catalyst in my decision not to go back to work in the food court kitchen this year. The reason being; I don't want to lose benefits.

You might say, "Gee Sébastien, are you telling me that the fact that Michigan has held your tax refund for randsom since March has nothing to do with your decision?"
And you'd be calling bullshit on me....
And you'd be sort of right.

But hasn't my incentive to work been taken away? The state told me I was getting a refund and then turns around and says "Oh, nope sorry, we spoke too soon, we don't know when we'll get it to you, no habla inglés LOL!"

And it was selected for a "random" review. Ha ha, I seriously question that. I was selected, along with everyone I know in Michigan who's in a university. And when our governor publicly badmouthed all of Michigan's university students and used us as a scapegoat for a failing economy, that didn't exactly make me trust her or her administration. I have no way to say for sure that it wasn't random, but let's just say it looks and smells like bullshit. And I'm supposed to wait until the end of OCTOBER for something I did in fucking MARCH!

So I'll take my work study job (which by the way still has income taxes paid to the FEDERAL government and none to the state.) Sure, the federal government is just as corrupt and incompetent, but at least THEY got me my tax refund when they said they would.

Well, I refuse to let the government steal from me any longer, so I'll be sitting here with my foodstamps doing jack shit nothing all summer thinking about how I'll never pay income tax to the state of Michigan anymore.

Peace!

~Sébastien
