Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is he heavyset, thin, short, rangy?
6'2, 185lbs and is best described as soft around the edges. While he isn't exactly fat he isn't skinny either. He has a healthy amount of pudge on his tum-tum.

2. How old is he?
29

3. Describe his posture. Does he carry himself well or does he slouch?
James has okay posture, while he doesn't necessarily stand perfectly straight, he doesn't slouch a whole bunch either, he's really in between on this one.

4. How is his health? Is he fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities?
James is healthy, but he is definitely out of shape. He's an average middle-aged american.
5. How does he move? Is he clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid?
James is very clumsy and awkward.

6. How attractive is this character physically? How does he perceive himself in the mirror?
James is very average looking. His features actually make him look older than he is because he aged from grief. His eyes are sunken in and he has bags under his eyes. James doesn't really think much of himself when it comes to looks, if anything he just thinks he's another guy. Not attractive, but not necessarily ugly.

7. Describe his complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred?
Pale.

8. Describe his hair: color, texture, style.
James' hair is a pale blond that in some light almost looks like a dirty blond. It's pretty well taken care of and has a part on the left side, while his bangs kind of hang over his forehead. Just short enough so that they don't get into his eyes.

9. What color are his eyes?
Green.

10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features?
James kinda has a big nose. Nothing like a huge beak, but it isn't some cute little button nose. That and the chub on his stomach.

11. What are his chief tension centers?
His brain. This man is so messed up mentally you don't even.

12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does he have six of the same suit?
James wears pretty average clothes, the only thing worth mentioning is his green army jacket, which he considers lucky. He doesn't tell many people that, but yeah. Other than that, he sports a gray polo, black t shirt under that, blue jeans and biker boots. Cuz James thinks he's a weekend rider.

13. Do his clothes fit well? Does he seem comfortable in them?
Yeah James' clothes are pretty ordinary and they aren't too tight or too loose.

14. Does he dress the same on the job as he does in his free time? If not, what are the differences?
James probably wears something more uniform-ish than his normal clothes, probably whatever is required of him.

15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando?
Boxers. Briefs are too tight, and commando in jeans? Yeah no thanks 8'I

Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse?

2. How does he normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does he talk easily, or does he hesitate?
James is actually pretty soft spoken except when excited. He is pretty hesitant to talk, but that's because he isn't really a talker and he's pretty awkward.

3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics?
James has a slight accent in the way he says things. He puts weird emphasis on certain words and what not, but for the most part he talks 'normally'

4. What language/s does he speak, and with how much fluency?
He speaks American. 8|

5. Does he switch languages or dialects in certain situations?
Hahah hell no xD he doesn't know anything but english.

6. Is he a good impromptu speaker, or does he have to think about his words?
He has to think about his words, or he sounds pretty stupid.
Example:

7. Is he eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change?
James is right in between, while he isn't the most blessed at speaking, he isn't exactly uneducated. When he gets frantic though, his speech kind of suffers, but then again, whose doesn't?

Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is he book-smart or street-smart?
James is about average in both really. He isn't uneducated, but he isn't a genius. He's just a very average guy.

2. Does he think on his feet, or does he need time to deliberate?
He needs time to think, if he thinks on his feet he most definitely would make mistakes.

3. Describe the character's thought process. Is he more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical?
James is a bit of an emotional thinker. He runs with his ideas and emotions a bit more than logically thinking things out. Not to say he can't be logical ever, just he is definitely a more feeling kind of guy.

4. What kind of education has the character had?
High school.

5. What are his areas of expertise? What, if anything, is he interested in learning more about?
He can use a cash register...

6. Is he an introvert or an extrovert?
Introvert.

7. Describe the character's temperament. Is he even-tempered or does he have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven?
James is very complicated. He is passive for the most part, but there are some things that can just rile him up and make him yell. But he is quick to apologize for the out burst. He is pretty laid back most the time and is calm, definitely not a hot-head by any means.

8. How does he respond to new people or situations? Is he suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic?
James is pretty timid towards most people, however secretly he is very eager to make friends. Primarily because he doesn't really have any. At all. He's a pretty lonely guy.

9. Is he more likely to act, or to react?
React.

10. Which is his default: fight or flight?
Both. When faced with the monsters of Silent Hill, well actually, the first one you ever run into he picks up a board with nails in it and beats it to death instead of high-tailing it out of there. But then when faced with something more formidable , aka PYRAMID HEAD, he hauled ass to the nearest elevator.

11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does he appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks?
James has a sense of humor, it's just hard for him to tell when it's a joke sometimes. He isn't exactly used to being friendly or having friends, so when people crack jokes, he sometimes can take it as serious. But once he is used to a person, he can definitely relax and joke around.

12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does he deal with them?
James actually is crazy. The entire game is about how delusional and messed up he is. James has MPD to some degree and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. He really doesn't deal with either of them, he just kinda goes with it.

13. What moments in this character's life have defined him as a person?
When his wife was dying, decaying away in a hospital bed with no hope for survival, and literally looked like something from a horror film, he still had the heart to bring her flowers, despite how she was lashing out at him constantly. How she made him feel terrible. Not only that, despite not knowing anything medically, he looked through hospital books for hours, trying to find something that maybe the doctors had missed to try and help his dying wife. If anything, I think James is a very loving and devoted husband.

14. What does he fear?
Himself.

15. What are his hopes or aspirations?
He really has none, except for finding his deceased wife in their special place.

16. What is something he doesn't want anyone to find out about him?
He doesn't want anyone to know that he actually killed his wife, because even he is keeping that information from himself.

Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with his parents.
James' mother left him and his father at an early age so he doesn't really have much of a relationship with her. While his father wasn't anyone who would be winning the Father Of The Year award. His father was very neglectful and for the most part, just left James to his own devices. That umbilical cord he kept in a box was more important than his son. So to put it short, James doesn't really have a good relationship with his parents.

2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like?
Nope, he's an only child.

3. Are there other blood relatives to whom he is close? Are there ones he can't stand?
Nope, James really doesn't have anyone.

4. Are there other, unrelated people whom he considers part of his family? What are his relationships with them?
Not really, he's grown close to some people, but he doesn't necessarily consider them family. Not yet anyways.

5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet?
He doesn't really have a best friend, though Heather and Harry are the closest he has to one.

6. Does he have other close friends?
Just Heather and Harry.

7. Does he make friends easily, or does he have trouble getting along with people?
Nah, James is the type of person that merely exists and everyone just kind of forgets about. He's awkward and not charming, so most people just try to end conversations with him quickly. Especially when his wife started dying, because then he grew bitter and surly.

8. Which does he consider more important: family or friends?
Family. He's just now getting used to having friends.

9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has he been married more than once?
James is a widower. He's only been married once.

10. Is he currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse?
Nope. Not even the spouse, cuz he killed her :|

11. Who was his first crush? Who is his latest?
Mary, but right now he doesn't have one, especially since he thinks Mary is alive. Crushing on people is the last thing on his mind.
12. What does he look for in a romantic partner?
Someone caring and kind. A care taker of sorts, because in all honesty, Jaems is a very needy person emotionally.

13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does he relate to them? If no, does he want any?
Nope.

14. Does he have any rivals or enemies?
Not really.

15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does he fall on the Kinsey scale?
I would have to say a 1. Primarily because James is really heterosexual, but depending on the situation, the person and if the moon beams were just right, something gay could happen. Just the chances are pretty slim, but not impossible.

16. How does he feel about sex? How important is it to him?
Sex is actually important to him, not to say he's some pervert that just wants to get it on all the time. But it's more so an intimate thing that means more to him than pleasure. Which, with his wife's illness, he hadn't exactly gotten any in three years. So sex is actually on his mind quite a lot, he just tries to you know. Not let people know.

17. What are his turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits?
James likes women. James likes women who wear kind of showy clothes. He also like them boobs and butts. Aaaw yiiis. But in all seriousness, James likes soft touches and caressing, his legs are a weak spot along with his neck and ears. James is definitely an intimate sort of guy, not necessarily a complete romantic, but he has basically been starved of intimacy on every level, so the small stuff means a lot to the poor guy. Weird bedroom habits? He really doesn't have any, he just likes to get it on and cuddle afterwards.

Beliefs
1. Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does he fit type?
He's a Sagittarius! He actually fits the sign pretty well.

2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in his life?
He really isn't spiritual at all. If anything I think he just doesn't care about religion.

3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it?
James has the basic morals, don't kill people, be nice, etc etc.

4. How does he regard beliefs that differ from his? Is he tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent?
He can be curious and indifferent. James definitely isn't the type to start arguments, he just kinda goes with the flow and tries to stay unnoticed.

5. What prejudices does he hold? Are they irrational or does he have a good reason for them?
James doesn't really hold any prejudices, if anything he's kind of uneasy around women, but that is because they intimidate him. Not in the way he thinks they can kick his ass or anything of that sort, but more so because women could emotionally crush him as if he were an ant. Irrational? Not really, he's been hurt by women, his wife in particular.

Daily Life
1. What is the character's financial situation? Is he rich, poor, comfortable, in debt?
James is lower middle class, he's a 29 year old clerk. He's barely making ends meat, but he isn't homeless.

2. What is his social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected him?
He's middle-class and probably going to stay there for the rest of his life.

3. Where does he live? House, apartment, trailer? Is his home his castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does he share it with others?
He lives in a house, one that his wife and him were working on buying through mortgage payments.

4. Besides the basic necessities, what does he spend his money on?
Paying for his wife's medical bills. And alcohol. Lots of alcohol.

5. What does he do for a living? Is he good at it? Does he enjoy it, or would he rather be doing something else?
He's a clerk. He's about as good as clerks can get. he has no aspirations to do anything else in life.

6. What are his interests or hobbies? How does he spend his free time?
James has a slight interest in vehicles, he's no gear-head, but he definitely has a liking for vehicles.

7. What are his eating habits? Does he skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods?
James is a dumpster eater in the sense he'll eat almost anything. Cake and ice cream especially. Also he's an alcoholic.
