my husband is directionally challenged.
he’s one of the smartest people I know and yet he has trouble getting from point A to point B without driving through points C-F first.
on thursday we picked up his company car. no more taxis for us. wonderful. knowing he has difficulty with simple directions I programed the park hyatt into his GPS so that he’d be able to get to work in the morning. apparently that was not as helpful as I had hoped. there are several bridges here in dubai that cross the dubai creek. one of them, the “floating bridge” is only open from 10AM-10PM. noah had to be to work @ 7AM yesterday. the GPS kept trying to take him across the floating bridge and he had no idea where he was going. eventually he pulled over, flagged down a taxi, and paid the taxi to drive to the park hyatt while he followed. :::shakes head::::
as we were going to bed last night noah turned to me and said, rather sheepishly, “I was going to ask you if maybe you could ride to work with me and then maybe catch a cab back home”. awwwww, my poor honey bunches.
of course I did. so I rode to work with him this morning and he found out that it really is much easier than he thought it to be. of course I still worry about him sometimes…. but I think he’ll be ok. too bad he can’t leave a bread crumb trail to help him get to and fro.
