Hurrah, glad you enjoyed! It's really nice to hear you thought they were in character, as that's something we both think is really important. It's good to know we obviously intrigued you - I won't give you all the answers about Joshua, because he is a bit of a man of mystery, but Dean's right to think it's Sam he's interested in rather than Jacob. Like Gordon, Joshua's heard the rumours about Sam and the other YED children. We may write about him more someday, so glad we whetted your appetite!

Thanks for the lovely feedback!

Thank you so much for the lovely feedback! <3 It's really great to hear you thought the boys were in-character, and I can't think of a much higher compliment than you thinking this read like an episode of the show, so I am gleeing hugely about that. :D

I don't think Joshua is likely to kill Jacob as soon as the Winchesters have driven off - as zooey_glass04 said above, Dean's right that he was more focused on Sam. But he's certainly prepared to kill him later if he decides it's necessary due to Jacob posing a risk to other people, yes.

Thanks again, I'm so glad you enjoyed it!

Loved the title, too lilacsigil June 30 2007, 13:06:29 UTC
Wow! This was a fantastic mystery - I totally didn't expect Dean and Sam to leave the parasite in Jacob, but it made sense to try it, considering the case of the firefighter who passed it on in the first place. Dean's "big brother" bond with Jacob was a delight, and it was strange to see Sam taking a turn at the hardass on this case. Joshua was a great look at the wider world of hunters, and their ongoing suspicions of the Winchesters. I was especially happy to see the eventual bond between Jacob and his stepmother - she really did want to protect and love him, and finally he had a way to respond to that without feeling he was betraying his mother. Wonderfully written.

Woooooooooooooooooooo, thank you so much for the lovely comments! This is really awesome feedback - you have picked up on all the things we really wanted to bring out in the fic. It's especially good to know that their final decision on the parasite both came as a surprise and made sense to you.

I'm finding it hard to do justice to your lovely comments in my reply - I'm just sitting here grinning like a loon! Thanks so much <333

Oh, wow, thank you so much for the lovely comment! I haven't stopped beaming since I read it. :D

I'm really pleased it all worked for you. You're right that it's unusual for Sam to play that role, but in this case he's still recovering from the events of Born Under A Bad Sign, and things like demon possession are hitting him quite hard. It's great to hear that the aspect with other hunters' suspicions of the boys came across well for you, as well as the relationship between Jacob and his stepmom. And I'm so happy you liked the title! We spent ages agonising before we hit on that, so it's awesome to hear it worked for you. <3

Thanks again for the amazing feedback, I'm going to be smiling all day now. :D

What a great story! Both Sam and Dean are responding to their previous experiences and basic fears. Sam is so afraid of his future and guilty about his past possession. And Dean is haunted by what he did to Meg and may have to do to Sam. Joshua is a real wild card here, I don't know if he will protect Jacob or exorcise him at the first opportunity. At least he seems willing to wait on doing anything to Sam at the present time. Thanks so much for sharing this.

First of all, I'm so glad I got to be a part of this. I'm so proud of both you guys--this is such an amazing accomplishment. You wrote a fic, a long one, that reads like a novel, and the blending of two authors is seamless. I love you both, and I'm so impressed ( ... )

Thank you so much again for beta-ing, my dear! You were an absolute star, and we appreciate it so much! You made a huge contribution to the fic and really improved it, so thank you so much. *loves on you* <33333

This was our first time collaborating, as I think we probably mentioned, so I am so gleeful it worked well and there weren't obvious author switches or anything, as that was important to me. :D And I'm really pleased the boys were in-character and you liked the dialogue. \0/

Thanks for all your lovely comments and all your awesome help, my dear! <333

Thank you so, so much for betaing. As you know by now, Cal and I are unbelievably anal about editing, and it was awesome to have a beta we trusted so much. There were so many times when we angsted over something, and the would reassure each other by pointing out that you would flag it if it was an issue. You improved the fic in so many ways, as Cal says - it really wouldn't have been anywhere near as good without your input.

I'm really glad you enjoyed it, and that our collaboration worked well.

Thank you for all your lovely comments *glees* and your brilliant help, darling! Call on us anytime if we can do anything in return <333333

That was an excellent story! It felt very much like a satisfying episode of the show: a tightly-plotted, scary casefile with lots of emotional resonance for the boys. Jacob was a great kid, and the way Dean bonded with him was touching and very in-character, as was Sam's conflict over what should be done. I liked Jacob's parents too, and Joshua the ambiguous bastard. Thanks for such a fun, entertaining read.

Wow, thank you very much, that's such lovely feedback! It's a huge compliment to be told that you found it in-character, and like an episode of the show, and I'm most gleeful you liked the original characters, too.

Thanks for the lovely feedback!
