Just finished the book, Love, Ellen. I promised Wendy I would read it. It was good. I, too, hate it when people hate each other just for being different.
MY opinion on gay/lesbian/homosexuality doesn't matter. I only know what God says. I love the hope that there is in His word. And "this ancient text" remains the same all of yesterdays, today and all tomorrows. How anyone feels won't change that one bit.
God IS Love. God Is awesome. God is forgiving. God is SO pure, SO Pure, that He can't even look at sin, no matter what it is. But He Loves us so much that He made a way for us to come clean, so we can be pure and be with Him, too. Good Jesus Christ. For all!!! Not just for a few. His gift of making us clean is for anyone, of any past, any sin.
A little logic here: Jesus is who He says He is - God in flesh, was killed by man, and historians of the day document his rising from the grave 3 days later. If Jesus was nuts, the millions of His believers wouldn't believe in Him today, to the point of being tortured and executed around the world. Millions of them, for years. No, He wasn't just insane. He is the Christ.
Seems like a loving, grateful child wouldn't want to do things that hurt their Father who loves them so. Thank God for grace, and Jesus. I am grateful that with maturity comes deepening faith that pleases my Father. The more I love Him, the less I want to hurt Him; the closer I want to be to Him, to have a real relationship with Him, not just "religion." Although I am SO not perfect, I am growing.
Find Him. He's looking for you, and the days are growing shorter.
