i've read the film has been met with mixed reactions since its debut at cannes, though there's no denying the trailers make it look extremely promising. also, it's probably safe to say that del toro gave the performance of his lifetime with this one. i'm just bummed that the intial release will be limited only to l.a. and new york until mid january.
