The heat's just dying down, and Tezuka can feel sweat starting to slide down his temples again; his shirt is clinging to his back. In another few minutes, all he'll be able to think about is going for a shower. It's been an unseasonably hot week.

Ryoma is on the other side of the net, panting; he's been drinking too much Ponta all week, to the point where Tezuka is considering forcing him to ration it. No one should be able to drink that much of a carbonated soft drink and still play effective tennis, but Ryoma somehow manages it.

"Mada mada dane, Buchou," Ryoma says, taking off his cap; his hair is damp and plastered to his skull. His eyes are shining as he grins; he looks ready to fly, to take on tennis and the world. Tezuka stares back at him, trying to slow down his own breathing, and he blinks when Ryoma moves around the net to face him - Tezuka
