Weekend report

This weekend I went down to Palm Harbor to play another Florida Pro Tour event at Stroker's Billiards, man I love that place. The environment is so friendly, the tables play great and the full liquor bar doesn't hurt either. Here is a breakdown of the matches:

Match 1: Beat Bill Ferguson 7-1, I got every roll in the book and I shot out to a big lead and he couldn't recover.

Match 2: Steve Foster, man this was a close match. It ended up coming down to the last few balls and I had to play a tricky carom and move the 6 ball out passed the 9 for a shot in the opposite corner. Won that match 7-6 but it was much closer than that.

Match 3: Lost to Troy Frank 5-7, he played a good set like usual and I made a couple of questionable errors.

Match 4: Beat Hunter Lombardo 7-5, we played on Table 1 which happens to play TOTALLY differently than the other tables. Not only was it made by a different table manufacturer, but the rails were 30% more lively and the pockets were about 20% tighter. It made for an interesting match as we were both struggling but in the end I ended up missing slightly less than he did.

Match 5: I never seem to do well on Sunday morning, this was no exception. Got the royal beatdown by Chris Bartram, he played a very good set and I played less than stellar. His demeanor is awesome, he is a very nice guy but he also bears down really well without becoming a prick at the table.

Drove home in the afternoon and got lucky not to hit traffic coming through Orlando, got home at maybe 6:15pm. Went to WalMart and bought a treadmill and a dresser for the bedroom, it's time I make my place somewhere that I am proud to live in. Bought a couple of books: The Art of Happiness by the Dalai Lama and Zen 24/7 by ???

Zen 24/7 is very light reading and I bought it so that I would have something to read in the pool hall, it's a great book and very insightful. The other book I haven't touched yet but have high expectations since my boss recommended it to me since I have been struggling with stress management at work.

Can't wait to go home and put together the treadmill, with my mechanical skills I will be lucky not to start a fire. Wish me luck.
